59-Year-Old Killed In Carbon County, Suspect In Custody: State Police

One person is in police custody after a 59-year-old man was killed with a "piercing object" in Lehighton Borough, troopers said in a release.

The victim was found with "life-threatening injuries from being struck with a piercing object" at an address on Carbon Street, according to state police. 

He was taken to St. Luke's, Carbon Campus and pronounced dead, authorities said. 

A suspect is in custody and there is "no threat to the surrounding public/community members," police said. 

PSP is investigating.
